Soil treatment for new house builds

Treating your surrounding soil for termites is critical especially when your house is located in a forested or woody area. Termites are always there to process dead trees unfortunately – they do not discriminate and will include your new furniture and cabinets as food.

Soil treatment for termites is not expensive and not difficult to do, it is just hazardous. Anti termite chemicals can wreak havoc on the human body. Be sure to let the experienced workers take care of doing the soil treatment since they know how to handle it safely.

Most anti termite chemicals need to be mixed with water in such a way that you do not inhale or ingest the fumes that come out during mixing so it is critical to wear protective masks and gloves. Always follow the water-termicide mixing ratio which is usually 1 liter of anti termite chemical to half a barrel of water – but always check on the back label of the chemical to be able to follow the correct ratio to make it effective. When mixing the chemical with water, be sure to mix slowly to avoid bubbles during mixing as the poison is in the fume that comes off when the bubbles burst.

Most anti termite chemical brands you can find in most large hardwares are usually effective but always go for the brands that you have prior experience with.

The soil treatment that you are doing during construction is not a one time deal. It is highly recommended that you engage with professional companies such as mapecon or rentokil or whichever is convenient in your location to maintain your property from termite attacks whole year round. Most pest control companies now use organic materials to maintain your house all year round. They place their organic pesticides in critical areas such as behind power outlets, power panels, and on the surrounding soil as most pests like termites, ants, cockroaches, and other pests use the electrical pipes as their entry point from their colony to invade your home. Most pesticide companies don’t just treat for termites, but they also treat for other common bugs such as cockroaches and ants. They usually treat your house once every two months and the whole year contract usually costs between 15 thousand to 20 thousand pesos depending on the size of your house/property. Pest control companies will not only provide professional organic protection from house pests, but will also shield you from the hazardous chemicals if you have to do it on your own.

If you plan to vacate your house for more than a month like when you need to make an extended travel abroad, it is advised that you have someone stay in your house for the entire duration of your extended vacation as it is the termites favorite when no one is staying in the house as they like to invade homes that are quiet – when no one is making sounds inside the house. The professionals advise that termites do not like the sounds and vibrations that humans make inside a house, that is why a house that is abandoned for long will quickly degrade or get attacked by termites and other bugs because they like it when you’re not around…
