Beware of the lobster feeds SCAM

I searched that exact title online but I couldn’t find any related strings thus I conclude that this is a totally new scam that is very unique and very believable.

This happened to one of our new clients. She related why it took her a while to pay her designing fees for her new planned house project as she got money problems which her husband didn’t know yet after she fell victim to the lobster feeds scam.

This is how it happened (summarized): She has posted her old house for sale online to finance her planned new house project on the new lot they purchased. One day a very believable prospect buyer approached her regarding the house saying his Arab son in law is very interested to buy the house. After several chats and repeated visits and inspections of the house. The prospect buyer scheduled a meeting with the bank to make the payment for the house. Days before the supposed payment date at the bank, another group showed up and posed as prospect buyers of her house, but while inspecting the house they kept talking about their expensive lobster feeds product that she can help to sell for a good profit. A further few days, the earlier prospect also called her asking if they could help her find a local lobster feeds dealer or supplier. Thinking of the potential money she could make, she gladly called the second prospect who posed as lobster feeds supplier and they promised her a good 30% commission if they could help her find a potential client.

She then arranged a meeting with the “supplier” and “buyer” and 2,000 pesos cash was given to her with just one box of purchase.

The next week the buyer again ordered 150 boxes from which she is supposed to earn 300,000 and from a total deal of close to 2.5 million pesos. But on the day that they are supposed to meet – only the seller showed up with 150 boxes of lobster feeds as was agreed. Upon waiting and waiting for more than an hour, the buyer called and asked if she could provide the cash advance of just 350,000 to be given to the seller and as the buyer could not make it on that day due to an emergency trip far north of Cebu in Malapascua island. Thinking of the money she could make with the deal, she gladly gave the requested amount to the supplier, but days later both the supplier and the buyer of the lobster could no longer be contacted… All that she has now are the boxes – half filled with cheap chicken feeds.
