Here’s a very elegant yet affordable inspiration plays for great looking exteriors: wood panels contrasting black metal spans and rails; wood and rock panels – contrasting wide black gutters; wood and rock panels contrasting wide black aluminum glass frames; wood panels contrasted with wide black slab lines and wide white concrete front wall…
These contrasts look very elegant yet the black painted metal rails, black wide gutters, wide black slab lines, or wide black aluminum glass frames are the most affordable options for these elements. Metal costs less than stainless, and the black aluminum glass frames also costs less than the increasingly getting popular uPVC (unplasticized polyvinyl chloride) glass frames.
On the above design – the long span wood panels can be substituted with the PVC panels to make it more fire safety compliant since most localities nowadays require fire proof or fire retardant housing materials such PVC wood looking panels. The black painted metal rails and gutters are very affordable materials yet they stand out in this design play. The glass can be tinted with light brown or light gold to compliment the wood panels, or you can make it just plain untinted glass but you can use warm white (light yellow) lights to compliment the wood theme.
The above design is a variation of the wood and black contrasts but instead make the front walls white using concrete plaster or fiber cement panel for smoother surface. The top gutters are also made white for more contrast effect.
This above variation of the wood and black contrast, features rock walls with gold and light brown hues. This design variation still uses the wide black gutters, black columns, but with full untinted glass walls complimented by warm white interior and exterior lights. The extra wide door uses the long span wood panel design.
